Take Action

TO THE THIRD SECTOR

The greatest challenge of our time

Conflicts corruption and poverty.

The African Human Rights Heritage has researched 16 years on alleviation of root causes of conflicts, corruption and poverty outside foreign funding but no one took us serious as a result of lack of knowledge and/or political will. Fortunately, today the United Nations is calling for advancement of human rights awareness “From Words to Deeds’ because the traditional tool is proved undisputably vulnerable to root causes of these problems. Though too often governments lack political will to implement international norms willingly accepted but they are now calling for social change because of setback in law enforcement.

There is now realization that human rights awareness mechanism has significantly achieved its design objectives but stand vulnerable to economic challenges of conflicts, corruption and poverty. The AHRH’s 16 years dream is now confirmed universally; and there is the need for scriptural cultural responsibility and duty for sustainable peace and development that is only achievable through supporting beneficiaries at grassroots.

We therefore call for collective and qualitative involvement of third sector in community policing or user-involvement in human rights promotion because it is the most tested tool for social-disorder since Father Moses exodus era as well as the Ancient British Corrupt Royal and Special days, for, whatever concerns community must be discussed for collective solution.

I know that, already the third sector is building necessary bridges and platforms towards poverty making history but unfortunately, the traditional human rights awareness tool needs to be advanced from words to deeds in line with the UN concept for Millennium Development Goals byway of implementation of the international human rights standards, compliance, monitoring and evaluation, of which achievement depends on Give support to effective law enforcement and Take sustainable development as incentive.

Refer to the UN Secretary-General’s message on Human Rights Day – 10 December 2007 attached herewith, to be followed by events at the UN Headquarters that will lead to the hosting of the 61st Dpingo Annual Conference, the first time outside the United Nations, New York to UNESCO Paris with the approval of Geneva. The aim and objective is to enter into advanced phase of human rights promotion to ensure enhancement of the missing link in the UDHR implementation to alleviate impunity.

The first step is to ensure quicker solution to the AHRH’s cash flow shortage. Therefore we call on members of third sector to provide for-profit and/or nonprofit fundraising through networking as a matter of urgency so that the common platform for global actors combating official-lawlessness can begin to move forward. Please send to us details of your traditional area of activities so that we can fix you in precisely where your activities will yield you more than you have actually contributed.
